I’m running for City Council.
-
Roughly 75 people move to Wake County ever day, which presents Raleigh with the same challenges that other growing cities experience:
Limited housing supply
Increased taxes
Loss of green space
Threats from climate change
Public safety concerns
Central to my platform is understanding that accommodating population growth in a way that preserves character and serves our entire city requires a nuanced discussion and creative solutions. -
Relevant Education:
Having obtained my MBA from UNC’s Kenan Flagler Business School, which included coursework in urban planning, I am well versed on the challenges and opportunities we face.
Professional Experience:
In my current professional life, I help organizations manage and work through the impacts of change. This provides me with the capability to meet all parties where they are, understand varied concerns, find common ground and move forward with thoughtful consideration and efficiency.
Civic Involvement:
My passion for community improvement has been most recently stoked by my involvement as a founding member of Skate Raleigh, a public/private partnership that worked with the City of Raleigh to bring a skatepark to the site of the future Smokey Hollow Park on Capital Blvd. This effort has brought life to an underused part of our city and is used by people of all ages and backgrounds.
Life Changing Personal Experience:
Finally, my experience on September 11th and its aftermath has taught me important lessons in gratitude and servitude along with a deep respect for our first responders who are critical to keeping our communities safe. -
I was shocked to discover the scale of funding that even a local election requires, particularly in a presi dential election year. Where does this money go? Mostly to print and digital communication to ensure likely voters in our district understand my perspective so they can make an informed decision.
Please consider donating to help me spread the word! Each person can max at $6,400.

You may have seen this article last week announcing my candidacy for Raleigh City Council and I wanted to reach out personally on the race, why I’m running and where I could use your help.
First of All…Why I Am Running
I love Raleigh. Ours is a city that balances technological innovation and artistic creativity, open space and cityscapes, economic energy and a sense of community. From my first year at NC State in 1997, to being embraced by city and state leaders as I returned from New York after the September 11 terrorist attacks, to getting a deep understanding of our business community during my graduate studies at UNC, I am supremely grateful that my family and I get to call this place home.
